About Headway Headway is a multifaceted community integration program for veterans who served on or after 9/11 living with a brain injury, spinal cord injury, or other neurological condition. We work with warriors and caregivers to maximize independence, improve skills, and build supportive networks. Headway participants do not have to live at Bastion.
Veteran participants have the opportunity to receive community based occupational therapy, engage creatively, build practical and vocational skills, spend time in the community, participate in recreational and wellness activities, and more with fellow veterans weekly. Family support members are invited to respite events to support self-care. By participating in Headway, the entire veteran family unit will have new supports to help them grow closer, happier, and healthier together.
